RURAL RESIDENTS IN GUELPH/ERAMOSA & MINTO

Thank you for participating in the two year pilot programme for rural collection which concluded at the end of 2008.

Information packages were mailed to all rural residents in Minto and Guelph/Eramosa the week of November 17, 2008. If you did not receive this package, please contact SWS.

The information collected was invaluable and assisted the SWS Committee and County Council in assessing considerations such as public participation, programme costs, and the merits of offering the service on a County-wide basis. As a result, at the October 30th session of County Council, it was resolved not to provide County-wide rural collection. Click here to view the evaluation report.

It was also recognized that most Guelph/Eramosa rural residents do not have a County waste facility in close proximity, and it was resolved that the current rural roadside collection service would continue as an interim measure, until a longer term solution was determined.

Rural Minto residents
The last day of pilot programme roadside collection was Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Your past practice of taking garbage and blue box materials to any County waste facility will continue. There is no charge to drop off blue box materials. For your convenience, click here for information on all County waste facilities, including hours of operation and the blue box programme.

A collection calendar was mailed to you the week of June 15, 2009. If you did not receive this mailout, please contact SWS. It is important that SWS has your correct mailing information in case we need to send you information directly.
