We are improving intersections by collecting traffic and turning movement data so we can better understand traffic patterns and trends which will help accommodate future needs.
We will be rotating our ScoutPlus camera throughout County intersections where it will be collecting data for approximately 12-24 hours consecutively.

About the Miovision ScoutPlus Unit
Miovision, based out of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, has provided The County with a portable video-based data collection solution. This device will reduce our resources needed during a study and decrease data collection times.
This unit is for data collection only and no personal identifying information will be collected.
Key Benefits:
- Eliminates the need for manual data collection
- Reduces the time spent on the side of a road
- No need for road entry or unplanned site visits
- Improve County Staff safety
- Effortless deployment (10-15 minute set up)
- The camera does not collect private/personal data or information:
- The camera will run at a low resolution so it only picks-up the shape of an object and not the details (such as a license plate or face of a person)
- Multiple uses for one device:
- Turning Movement Counts (TMC), Roundabout Counts, Speed Data, Safety Studies, Road Volume Data Count (ATR), Pathway Counts, Junction Counts
- Accurate and consistent data for all study types
