Who Are We Looking For? 

Eramosa Learning Academy is seeking a vibrant, passionate and experienced Early Learning Supervisor who is deeply committed to providing high-quality childcare and supporting the professional growth of educators at all stages of their careers. Working alongside our dedicated Early Learning Pedagogical Leader, the ideal candidate will have a strong passion for mentoring, as well as proven experience in building meaningful relationships with families and staff. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in the classroom, actively modeling emergent curriculum, rather than being confined to a desk completing reports! Due to our commitment to consistency in our programs, we ask the candidate to live within a 30-minute drive to Guelph. 

Position Summary 

This position is uniquely designed to minimize administrative workload, allowing the Supervisor, in collaboration with the on-site full time Early Learning Pedagogical Lead, to focus on supporting program staff in developing and implementing high quality emergent curriculum based on the pedagogy How Does Learning Happen? The Supervisor will exemplify and model resiliency and professionalism. With a strong management structure in place, this role emphasizes hands-on leadership, mentorship, and direct engagement with educators, children, and families. The Supervisor will uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice set by the College of Early Childhood Educators while overseeing the successful leadership, supervision, and management of our newly purpose-built St. Patrick Early Learning Centre in Guelph, including all program rooms (licensed capacity: 64), centre staff, and students/volunteers. Additionally, the Supervisor will ensure ongoing compliance with the Ministry of Education’s Child Care Division licensing requirements. 

Early Learning Childcare Supervisor Responsibilities 

  • Together with the Early Learning Pedagogical Lead, provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to staff, ensuring effective implementation of emergent curriculum in alignment with How Does Learning Happen? and ELA expectations. 
  • Support staff in maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive childcare environment. 
  • Ensure the Early Learning Centre meets or exceeds Operating Criteria, CCEYA, and Public Health requirements in collaboration with the Pedagogical Leader. 
  • Manage staff shadowing, training, and mentoring. 
  • Maintain staff records and documentation per Ministry and ELA policies in cooperation with the HR Manager. 
  • Organize staff meetings in partnership with the Early Learning Pedagogical Lead. 
  • Maintain the daily schedule and coordinate supply coverage for absences. 
  • Develop and nurture relationships with families, children, staff, and external partners (e.g., Wellington County Resource Consultants, KidsAbility, CMHA, Ministry of Education Program Advisor). 
  • Engage parents through various communication, surveys, and feedback in a respectful manner.
  • Respond to parent questions, concerns, and requests in alignment with ELA’s philosophy, program statement implementation and core values. 
  • Organize centre tours for new families. 
  •  Maintain children’s records as required by the Ministry and ELA policies. 
  • Oversee centre toy and equipment inventory is accounted for, maintained, rotated and exchanged through the ELA Resource program. 
  • Organize and coordinate events such as the Fall and Spring ELC Open Houses with the Project Manager. 
  • Contribute information and pictures to the Project Manager for newsletters and social media that contribute to a positive and professional presence. 
  • Communicate daily with the executive team regarding facilities, enrolment, program quality, and pedagogy.

    Mandatory Qualifications
     
    - Early Childhood Education Diploma
    - Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education
    - Minimum 3 years experience in a direct child care supervisory management capacity
    - Up-to-date immunization records
    - Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (PVSC) within 6 months of hire.
    - Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
    - Completed CCEYA Licensing Self Test Certification
    - Current Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtain
